Hockinson School District announced a few changes in leadership positions for the upcoming school year.

On July 11, the district approved the hiring of Josh Robertson as principal at Hockinson Heights Elementary School. He previously taught at Image Elementary and served as an administrative intern in the Evergreen School District.

He takes over for Lisa Swindell, who worked in the district for 24 years and left to take a position as a field supervisor at Washington State University Vancouver.

Chuck Sheron, most recently an administrator at King’s Way Christian Schools, was hired as assistant principal at Hockinson Heights. He replaces Ingrid Colvard, who worked in the district for 16 years and left to become the principal at Woodland Elementary School.

In a release from the district, Hockinson Superintendent Sandra Yager said Robertson and Sheron will bring a lot of experience and enthusiasm to the school.

Hockinson Middle School Assistant Principal Kelly Macdonald left to take over as principal of Union Ridge Elementary School. The part-time administrative role will not be filled “because attendance numbers are down,” according to a release from the district.

“We are sorry to see these wonderful educators leave, but we are excited for them to grow in their careers and cheer them on as they advance from assistant principals to principals, and, in Lisa’s case, from school principal to university educator, where she can share her valuable experience with the next generation of teachers,” Yager said in the release.
