Brush Prairie — Clark County Fire District 3 received a heart monitor and defibrillator worth $19,648 from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

The equipment will assist the emergency transport team when responding to cardiac patients and those in need of advanced life support.

Firehouse Subs created its safety foundation in 2005 to “providing funding, life-saving equipment and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations,” according to a release from the organization.

Fire District 3 accepted the donation July 14 in Lacey along with Riverside Fire and Rescue, which received 10 sets of turnout gear.
