A bicyclist was killed in a crash on state Highway 503 north of Battle Ground late Sunday night.

Richard B. Navarra, 48, of Battle Ground was riding a bicycle south on the highway in the lane of travel at about 11:20 p.m. when a 2007 Toyota Yaris driven by Cody Eisenhart, 18, of Vancouver struck the bicycle from behind, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Navarra was ejected from the bike and came to rest on the highway’s shoulder. Troopers said he died from his injuries.

He was not wearing a helmet.

State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash. Troopers have not made a decision on whether charges will be filed in the incident.
