Central Park — The Clark College Foundation gave out presidential awards at its Savoring Excellence dinner on May 18. The Tod and Maxine McClaskey Family Foundation was honored for support of the school, including a $4 million donation to the college’s culinary education facility, which will be named the Tod and Maxine McClaskey Culinary Institute at Clark College. The school will train students for careers in the constantly changing food, beverage and baking fields. Jane Hagelstein, a supporter of veteran resources at the college, was also given a presidential award. She regularly visits the school’s Veteran’s Resource Center to socialize with students or help them prepare for job interviews. She donated $48,000 to help construct and furnish the Veterans Resource Center.
