Clark County Fire District 6 is inviting community members to meet firefighters, see a police dog demonstration and explore other aspects of public safety Saturday.

The agency is holding its annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. at Station 61, 8800 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave.

The event, which is expected to draw a crowd of nearly 3,000, includes free hot dogs, chips and soda.

A firefighting display is scheduled for noon, a Clark County Sheriff’s Office police dog demonstration is scheduled for 1 p.m., and a vehicle extrication demonstration is scheduled for 3 p.m. A LifeFlight fly-in is scheduled for 2 p.m., barring any emergency calls.

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is offering low-cost bicycle helmets, and a local Eagle Scout troop is offering free identification kits for children.
