Forum to discuss Every Student Succeeds Act

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction will host a public forum to discuss how the Every Student Succeeds Act will be implemented in Washington. The free forum is from 6 to 8 p.m. June 16 at Educational Service District 112, 2500 N.E. 65th Ave.

Gil Mendoza, deputy superintendent of K-12 education, and Gayle Pauley, assistant superintendent of special programs and federal accountability, will lead the discussion.

The public forum will cover opportunities and challenges of ESSA, how ESSA is similar to and different from the No Child Left Behind Act, and a discussion.

Other scheduled forums will be in Everett, Puyallup, Yakima, Wenatchee, Spokane, Burien and Bremerton, and an online webinar. Except for the webinar, no registration is required. For questions, contact Jami.Peterson@k12.wa.us.
