SEATTLE — A man who authorities say threatened to “shoot up” a Seattle high school remains jailed on $500,000 bail.
KOMO-TV reports that 35-year-old Kenneth Pruitt was arrested Friday and faces charges of harassment, unlawful possession of a firearm and domestic violence.
Police say in an affidavit the suspect threatened to kill his son’s mother and go to Rainier Beach High School, where the woman works, and open fire at the school.
Assistant police Chief Robert Merner says officers had been searching for Pruitt after his ex-girlfriend called for help earlier that morning. He says officers took the woman and her family into protective custody after being unable to find Pruitt at his home.
The suspect was located one block from the school by officers patrolling the area.
