Police officers arrested a man tonight on suspicion of fatally shooting his wife in Five Corners.

Officers received a report of a weapons disturbance at 8:45 p.m. at a home in the 7300 block of Northeast 109th Avenue, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies found a dead woman at the home who had sustained “an apparent gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said.

After the shooting, the suspect fled from the scene, but officers were able to capture him a few blocks from the home. He was treated at a hospital for injuries that police said were not life threatening.

The suspect was in his 30s, as was his wife, police said. They did not release the name of the suspect or the shooting victim, but did say that the couple lived at the home where the shooting took place.

The sheriff’s major crimes unit is investigating the death.
