Clark County — Several local students earned 5th Avenue Awards for their work in school plays. Ridgefield High School sophomore Hailey Hughes earned the award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor or Actress in a Non-Singing Role for her portrayal of Ms. Darbus in “Disney’s High School Musical.” She’s the first Ridgefield student honored by the 5th Avenue Awards, which judges productions submitted by schools across the state. Students from Camas High School also won awards, including Brooke Moltrum, who won Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for playing Fiona in “Brigadoon.” The award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Featured Ensemble Role went to Catherine Garcia, who played Jean in the same show. Camas’ Elizabeth Cook earned special honors for student achievement.
