Letter: Just when you think he’s gone …

Don Benton still never fails to amaze. His recent revelation about his qualifications and experience to lead the Human Resources Department is just one more wonder.

Here is a guy, not knowing a noodle from a Nutria, being handed the role of directing the county’s Environmental Services Department (cue Councilors David Madore and Tom Mielke) with no prior experience, at least that no one seemed to be able to find. Now, his delusion is about being fully qualified as an HR manager. Just because he’s been on the receiving end of numerous personnel “missteps” doesn’t qualify him any more than a repeatedly convicted felon feeling qualified for the position of city attorney, based on his experience within the legal community.

This far too much rings of a Madoran puppet show, with Madore pulling the Benton strings. Hats off to Human Resources Manager Ron Zito, the current acting director, for cutting that Madoran string and professionally asking Benton to get back in line with the other kids.
