A 78-year-old Vancouver man who went missing while visiting family in Montana has been found dead in a car that crashed on a ranch north of Livingston, Mont.

Park County officials say someone who was hired to spray weeds spotted the car belonging to Robert Lee Bishop on Tuesday. It had gone off a dirt ranch road, down a 15-foot embankment and landed on its side on a creek bank.

Bishop was last seen June 16. He had called his family that evening reporting he got lost while driving after dinner.

Officials say a property owner had reported seeing a vehicle driving through nearby hay fields late on June 16.

Officers investigated, but were unable to find the vehicle.

Bishop’s family reported him missing the next afternoon.
