Mount Hood Meadows offering snowshoe outings

Mount Hood Meadows will be offering snowshoe tours on March 12, March 26 and April 9 as the ski area expands its offerings.

The trips cost $60 and include snowshoe rentals, a trip up Vista Express chairlift and then a descent along the southern boundary of the ski area on Vista Ridge. Dinner at Alpenstube restaurant follows the 90-minute walk.

Participants need to wear comfortable winter boots. Boots are not available for rent.

Tours may be cancelled if the weather is bad.

The tours begin at 2:30 p.m. at the rental center to get snowshoes and meet the guides. Participants ride take Vista Express’ last trip up for the day, so will have the mountain almost to themselves.
