California company sues Port of Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD — Dixon Marine Services filed a lawsuit Monday seeking at least $2.7 million in damages from the Port of Ridgefield.

The California contractor alleges in court filings that the port did not meet increased costs for work performed in 2014 on a Lake River “sediment remedy project.”

Heavy rain and resulting stormwater flows, as well as port negligence, caused a change in how Dixon would have to handle water treatment and dredge materials, which caused costs to increase, according to court filings by Portland lawyer Todd A. Zilbert.

Dixon Marine Services is seeking the “principal sum” of $1.7 million, as well as damages and costs of at least $1 million.
