Gifford Pinchot National Forest snow report 3/17

Mount Adams — Two feet of snow with 8 to 10 inches new snow at Atkinson Sno-Park. Two to three feet of snow at Flattop Sno-Park. The snowmobile routes out of Atkisson and Flattop were groomed on Friday.

Pineside Sno-Park has new snow, although coverage is pretty sparse under the trees. SnowKing Sno-Park has received a foot of new snow and has about 2.5 feet total.

There was not been any grooming at SnowKing since the last snow accumulation.

Motorists will want to have traction devices as road plowing is more intermittent near the end of the season.

Upper Wind River — Koshko, McClellan Meadows, Oldman Pass and Lone Butte sno-parks got about 16 inches of new snow with the recent storm.

Snow depths are about 2 to 2.5 feet at Koshko, McClellan Meadows and Oldman Pass and 4 feet at Lone Butte. The ski trails are groomed on an irregular basis.

No snow at Government Mineral Springs.

The snow depth at Surprise Lakes is 131 inches, up 32 inches in the past week.

Mount St. Helens — Twelve inches at Cougar Sno-Park and 22 inches at Marble Mountain Sno-Park. Road No. 83 is snow-covered.

June Lake received 33 inches of snow from the last storm and has a total of 111 inches.
