WASHOUGAL — The Washougal Community Center, which has been closed for more than three months, will open to the public during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to show off upgrades made to the center.
The center, at 1681 C St., closed on Jan. 4 for the $564,000 project, which replaced the roof, added a new heating and cooling system and overhauled the kitchen. City staff also painted the community room.
Money for the project came from the state, county and city, with $300,000 from the state capital budget, $149,700 from a community development block grant and $114,300 from city funds.
The new roof covers the community center and the library, which is adjacent to the center.
