The next Green Neighbors Recycling Day Event is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Washougal Transfer Station, 4020 S. Grant St., Washougal, and will be hosted by the city and Green Neighbors, a Clark County Department of Environmental Services program.

Residents can bring block foam, electronic equipment, tires without rims, refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioning units and scrap metal to be recycled. There is a limit of five tires per person. No business waste or household hazardous waste will be accepted. Household hazardous waste includes paints, pesticides, poisons, automotive fluids and chemicals.

Residents can also dispose of up to two cubic yards of household garbage and/or yard debris on Saturday. Garbage will be accepted at the transfer station for free with a coupon that was mailed home or can be found on the city’s website, www.cityofwashougal.us. Yard debris will be accepted for free with a coupon from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Triangle Resources, 612 S.E. Union St., Washougal.

Recycling Day events are free and open to all Clark County residents. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or other identification with an address, might be required. There will be collection events taking place later this year in Vancouver and Battle Ground. For more information, go to www.clarkgreenneighbors.org/recyclingday.html.
