PASCO — A Pasco frozen food company has laid off 61 more workers amid an ongoing shutdown in connection to listeria contamination in some of its products.

The Tri-City Herald reported that CRF Frozen Foods announced the addition layoffs Friday, raising the total number of workers laid off to more than 300.

CRF Frozen Foods has recalled more than 400 products sold under 50 brand names at retailers including Costco, Target, Trader Joe’s and Safeway after they were linked to a listeria outbreak in April.

Of the affected employees, 245 were laid off on May 10 temporarily, with the company saying it would recall them when the plant reopens. The workers let go on Friday were told to seek employment with other businesses.

CRF typically employs about 430 people in Pasco.
