SEATTLE — A pickup truck smashed through the front door at the South Seattle College student center and suspects loaded its ATM on to the back of the vehicle and sped off.

KOMO-TV reports that the heist happened about 1 a.m. Tuesday.

What the suspects likely didn’t anticipate was how fast law enforcement would find the machine.

Turns out the stolen ATM has a GPS tracking device. After the machine’s alarm alerted Bank of America, calls went out to police.

Within a short time, the ATM was tracked to a home about 3 miles away. Police used a search warrant and recovered the stolen machine.

No information was immediately available about the suspects who pulled off the heist.
