Two new leaders have been hired in the Camas School District following board action last week.

Charlene Williams was hired as the assistant superintendent of educational services, which is a new position. Williams was previously with Portland Public Schools, where she held various positions, including senior director of school performance, principal/small school administrator and director of education.

“Charlene’s experiences in district leadership and educational services will serve Camas well and her work in Portland Public will bring a unique perspective to our district,” current deputy and incoming superintendent Jeff Snell said in a release from the district.

Jasen McEathron joins the district as the new director of business services, coming to Camas from the Skamania County Public Utility District, where he was auditor/manager of finance and administration.

Prior to that, he worked as the audit manager for the Washington State Auditor’s Office for 10 years. He succeeds Donna Gregg, who is retiring in June.

“It was not only his business knowledge that impressed the team, but also his previous experiences as an auditor,” Snell said in the same release. “Jasen’s experiences and education have developed into a skill set that allows him to examine every angle of the budget.”
