A motorcyclist remains in critical condition following a collision with an SUV in Skamania County Thursday.

Mark Puntigam, 53, of Stevenson was driving a 2001 Harley Davidson east on state Highway 14 two miles west of North Bonneville when he collided with a westbound 2015 Ford Edge, according to Washington State Patrol.

Troopers say that the driver of the Ford, Julie Schroeder, 54, of Helix, Ore., failed to yield the right of way and caused the crash when she turned left in front of Puntigam and the two collided.

Puntigam was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

Schroeder was taken to the same hospital where she was treated and released. She was cited for second-degree negligent driving, according to state patrol.
