Salmon Creek — ManorCare Services received a Gulbransen spinet piano through the School of Piano Technology for the Blind’s Piano Adoption Program, which launched in September 2015 and has since donated pianos to three Clark County homes, two low-income Vancouver Housing Authority senior apartment complexes, the Hough Early Learning Center and an adult mental health facility in Portland. “Music is an integral component of our rehabilitation program here at ManorCare Salmon Creek,” Charissa Steinmann, director of admissions and marketing, said in a release from the school. “To have our own piano for patients to use and listen to during their stay will provide an enhanced and personal experience for them.” ManorCare provides individualized post-hospital nursing care in a comfortable environment in hopes of a smoother and safer recuperation.
