Internet and cable provider Comcast is boosting internet speeds in the Oregon and Southwest Washington region, local company representatives said Monday.

Two packages, which the company said already cover most customers who use its Xfinity services, will be notched up: Performance Pro and Blast Pro. Performance Pro will go from 75 to 100 megabits per second. Blast Pro will go from 150 to 200 megabits per second.

The move, Comcast said, allows customers faster connections to streaming services and more flexibility with devices.

Comcast will alert customers when the speed bump is available.
