The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday identified the body found earlier this week washed along the shore of the Columbia River as 22-year-old Clairissa Bliss.

The medical examiner’s office said a determination as to the cause and manner of her death is pending. The Vancouver Police Department is still investigating.

Bliss’ body was recovered Wednesday morning after a National Parks Service employee noticed it near the Waterfront Renaissance Trail, about 200 yards upstream from the Interstate 5 Bridge.

Vancouver police detectives were able to identify Bliss after tipsters matched images, circulated by the police, of tattoos Bliss wore.

Bliss lived in Skamania County.
