Camas-Washougal Community Orchestra seeks new players in all sections; open to all ages and skill levels. The orchestra directed by Tatiana Kolchanova plays a variety of music, including classical and pop, and presents two concerts each year. Columbia River Sweet Adelines Chorus seeks women 16 and older for four-part harmony. The ability to read music is not required. Gallery 360 seeks entries for “Spirit of the Northwest,” an exhibition in the Slocum House Community Room that will run January through March. Artists are invited to submit up to three entries that evoke the spirit of the Northwest and the community. Entry deadline is Dec. 3. The PDX Bridge Festival will host an essay contest titled “My Interstate Bridge Adventure,” as part of the celebration honoring the 100th anniversary of the Interstate Bridge. Kids and adults can compete for cash prizes in three age brackets: 9 to 13, 14 to 18, and 19 and older. The celebration will be held Feb. 11 at the Red Lion on the River — Jantzen Beach, 909 N.
