A bicyclist was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center with head and chest injuries after a collision with a car in Woodland on Saturday.

Police were dispatched at 4:29 p.m. to the 38000 block of Lakeshore Drive in response the collision, according to Woodland Police Sgt. Brad Gillaspie.

Gillaspie said that police are still working through details of the crash and were unable to release details about the individuals involved or who was at fault. He did say that both individuals were travelling north when the collision occurred. The driver, driving a Volkswagen Jetta, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet but was not using bike lights, Gillaspie said.

No citations have been issued and drugs and alcohol were not involved in the incident, Gillaspie said.
