Battle Ground — Throughout October, Chappelle’s Towing accepted nominations of Battle Ground residents who were in need of a used, but reliable vehicle.

The Chappelle’s Community Uplift Program teamed up with Elite Collision & Auto Spa to gift the vehicle to a person in need. Celia Wilbur, a mother looking to start her career, was nominated by multiple friends and relatives, and was awarded the car, which will allow her to drive to the grocery store, take her son to appointments or drive herself to a job interview. The Uplift Program started earlier this year.

“With this wonderful gift, I will be able to provide a life for my son that I couldn’t have so easily done without a car,” Wilbur wrote to the two companies to thank them for the car. “Things other people may take for granted will be such a blessing for myself and my family.”
