Four students from Battle Ground Public Schools were selected to participate in the annual Washington Music Educators Association All-State band, choir and orchestra ensembles.

Finnegan Andrews, a Battle Ground High School senior, will join the All-State Vocal Jazz ensemble; Ashton Hemming, an eighth-grader at Chief Umtuch Middle School, will play on tenor sax with the Rainier All-State Band, and Mallory Meyer, also an eighth-grader at Chief Umtuch, will play on trombone with the Baker All-State Band. Jacob Williams, an eighth-grader at Tukes Valley Middle School, will play on trombone with the Baker Band.

They will join more than 570 young performers from around Washington, Feb. 16 to 18 in Bellevue, and rehearse under the direction of distinguished music educators. The students will present a final concert on Feb. 18.
