Week 4 fall sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 1.

Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

RYAN CIBART, HERITAGE BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Cibart placed eighth at the Harrier Classic in Albany, Ore., in 16:37 and won a tri-meet at Kelso.

KANTEN HALE, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS GOLF: Hale shot an even-par 72 for a runner-up finish at the Prairie Invitational.

ELLIE JOHNSON, LA CENTER GIRLS SOCCER: Johnson scored five goals in two matches including the only goal in a 1-0 win over Columbia-White Salmon.

LIZZYE RYBALKA, BATTLE GROUND GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Rybalka placed eighth at the Harrier Classic in Albany, Ore., in 19:27 and won a quad-meet at Union.

ABBY WILMINGTON, COLUMBIA RIVER VOLLEYBALL: Wilmington had 37 kills, eight digs, six blocks and four aces in two league wins.
