Bagley Downs — The Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools received an $8,000 donation through Umpqua Bank’s Charitable Foundation.

The money will be used to expand the district’s family engagement activities, including experiences and academic-focused events for parents to become involved in their child’s academic success.

The program provides parent engagement opportunities at 13 sites across the district, with many opportunities aimed at encouraging parents to become more involved in their child’s education.

The bank recently announced all of its Community Giving grant recipients Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Nevada, which totaled more than $311,000.
