Prep highlights: Columbia River girls soccer hands Ridgefield first loss

Goals by Katie Anthony and Ellie Walker in the final eight minutes on Thursday lifted the Columbia River girls to a 4-3 win over host Ridgefield.

The loss was the first in league play for the Spudders, who are now tied with Hockinson atop the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League standings at 6-1. Columbia River (5-2) is one game back.

Early in the season, Ridgefield beat Columbia River on a penalty-kick tiebreaker.

Katie Lee and Shalece Easley also scored for the Chieftains. Anthony had two assists plus scoring the tying goal.

For Ridgefield, Brooke Weese, Taryn Ries and Annika Farley scored goals.

Stars of the day

• Spencer Tibbits, Fort Vancouver golf, shot a 2-under-par 34 at Green Meadows for medalist honors against Washougal and Heritage.

• Haley Walz and Ryleigh Champaco, Fort Vancouver volleyball. Walz had eight kills and 21 assists, and Champaco had nine kills as Fort won its first league match since 2010.

• Hannah Lord, Heritage volleyball, had 26 kills in a win over Union.

• Laynie Erickson, La Center volleyball, had 17 kills and a block in a three-set win.

• Brianna Clark, King’s Way Christian volleyball, had 33 assists and six kills in a victory.

• Megan McDaid-O’Neill, Seton Catholic soccer, had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win.

• Maddie Kemp and Alyssa Tomasini, Camas soccer, each scored three goals in a win over Battle Ground.

• Phoebe Gunn, Evergreen girls soccer, scored a second-half goal for the Plainsmen in a 1-0 win over Hudson’s Bay.

• Ashlyn Daugherty and McKenna Flanagan, Woodland girls soccer, scored second-half goals as the Beavers beat Mark Morris 2-1.

• Taylor Foster, Woodland volleyball, had 17 kills and three blocks in a win over Mark Morris.

• Zoe McBride, Prairie volleyball, had 14 kills and 17 digs in a win over Kelso.

• Aubrey Stanton, Camas volleyball, had 47 assists in a 3-1 win over Battle Ground.

• Regan Smith, Skyview soccer, scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Heritage.
