There’s little question a Union golfer would lead the Class 4A boys district golf tournament after its first day.

The only question — which one?

Reece Boyce is the answer. Monday, he shot a 2-under 70 to lead the two-day tournament at Tri-Mountain.

Boyce is among four Union golfers in the top five. Keith Lobis is one shot back. Hayden Meeker and two-time defending district champ Ben Gruher are two back, along with Skyview’s Anthony Chae.

In the 3A tournament, Fort Vancouver’s Spencer Tibbits is well on his way to his fourth consecutive district title.

The two-time state champion shot a 4-under 68 at Tri-Mountain. He leads by seven strokes over Prairie’s Gage Hannon.

The top 18 golfers in 4A and top 15 in 3A made the cut to today’s final round.

• Joe Beuselinck and Spencer Long, Columbia River boys golf, each shot an even-par 34 in a win over Washougal.
