The Alishia Topper race in the 49th is a bit “topsy turvy.” Topper identifies as a Democrat, and claims she is pro-public education and labor. Her endorsement list speaks volumes, positioning her unfit to represent the 49th.
Topper accepted big money and a Building Industries Association (BIA) endorsement. BIA is anti-union, opposed to wage increases, and opposes tax code change for progressive improvements in public education, social and health services. Other BIA endorsed? Liz Pike, Brandon Vick, Paul Harris, Lynda Wilson, and Ann Rivers.
The 49th deserves Monica Stonier, a proven leader who will not waiver from values or constituency.
