A man who was struck by a vehicle Saturday when he hopped out of his Jeep for a tree that fell in the road is recovering and in satisfactory condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to the hospital.

On Saturday afternoon, Kory P. Cameron, 51, of Beavercreek, Ore., stopped in front of a downed tree on state Highway 503 north of Battle Ground and got out of his 2001 Jeep Cherokee, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said Grant W. Kaski, 16, of Battle Ground came around a corner in his 2003 Ford Ranger and crashed into Cameron’s Jeep.

Cameron was behind the Jeep, according to the State Patrol, and was hit.

The crash was still being investigated Wednesday.
