Letter: Probst modernized tax collections

By Doug Lasher, Vancouver

The second half installment of property taxes due Oct. 31 reminds me that there have been more than 12,000 payments made online so far this year. Paying taxes online is a convenient and immediate option for taxpayers to pay their tax bills. Electronic payments also reduce the county’s billing and collection costs. However, the ability for taxpayers to make online tax payments would not have been possible without the assistance of former 17th District state Representative Tim Probst sponsoring legislation (SHB 2962) to modernize property tax administration practices. Thank you, Tim Probst. Your past legislative work making government more efficient and convenient for taxpayers is greatly appreciated.
