An Oak Harbor man was injured Saturday when his SUV struck a cable barrier and overturned on Interstate 5 south of Woodland, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A WSP bulletin said the crash occurred at 12:34 p.m. when Eric B. Ochoa, 48, lost control of the 2000 Ford Explorer he was driving north on the freeway about a mile south of Woodland. The SUV went off the roadway, struck a cable barrier designed to prevent crossover collisions and overturned.

Ochoa, the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, the WSP reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the WSP.
