Non-league football: King’s Way Christian 49, Elma 13

Jonathan Stell scored three touchdowns and Liam Nabors threw for 288 yards as the King’s Way Christian Knights scored 49 unanswered points en route to a victory over the Elma Eagles in non-league action at King’s Way Christian School.

Stell rushed for a touchdown, returned a fumble for another and tacked on a third with a punt return as the Knights ran their record to 4-0 on the season. After Elma’s Ira Hartford scored on an 80-yard run on the first play of the game, King’s Way scored on their next four possessions to take a commanding 27-7 lead after a quarter and never looked back.

Senior wide receiver Matt Garrison hauled in five passes for 164 yards including a 69-yard scoring strike from Nabors for the Knights, who play at La Center in a 1A Trico League matchup next Friday.
