Letter: Trump is unfit for office

The first 2016 presidential debate is now history and the overall consensus is that Hillary Clinton won. Even the Trump people are hanging their heads and sheepishly admitting this. But here’s the insanity that’s Donald Trump and, up until now, it’s worked. Soon he’ll start crowing about how he absolutely and totally blew her out of the water. Or that it was somehow rigged. He’ll say this lie enough that it will sound like the truth. His supporters will feel better about themselves and believe it, too.

If it weren’t so pathetic that he is a serious candidate, it would at least be entertaining. This debate displayed his schoolyard bully tactics, his bluster, his lies, his insults, his hair. Do we really want a president who may say to another world leader “I know you are but what am I?”

For those of us who believe that he is unfit for just about any office, or for those who are somehow still on the fence between the two candidates, let’s unite and repeat to Trump one of his favorite lines and the essence of his lack of civility and eloquence: “Not!” Remember to interrupt someone when yelling it.
