Resident sought for community advisory board

Clark County — The Clark County manager is seeking a resident of the southwest part of the county to serve on the Community Action Advisory Board, a volunteer board that makes recommendations on funding for housing, health and safety, while also supporting programs that help low-income individuals become self-sufficient.

The position on the nine-member board is open to residents of the board’s District 3. The district’s north boundary is roughly Northeast 164th Street but jogs south to Northeast 99th Street at Northeast 162nd Avenue. It is bounded by Interstate 205 between Northeast 18th and 76th streets on the west, the county line on the east and the Columbia River on the south.

The term expires at the end of 2017 with the opportunity to apply for reappointment to a full three-year term. County staff or board members of agencies receiving money administered by the advisory board are not eligible for the position.

The county encourages people of diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to apply.
