Volunteers spent much of Friday and Saturday searching for a 16-year-old Camas boy who’s been missing since Thursday, but so far there are still no leads as to his whereabouts.

According to Camas police, Cole Burbank was last seen in class at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday at Camas High School. He left in his black 2010 Honda Accord, license plate AKW3441, to attend running start classes at Clark College. But he never showed up for class and hasn’t been seen or heard from since, according to police.

Since then, a Facebook group has been set up to coordinate the efforts of volunteers searching for Burbank. Volunteers have posted to the group’s page describing how they’ve searched all over Clark County, as well as parts of Portland and beyond, for Burbank with no success.

Camas Police Department spokeswoman Officer Deb Riedl said that there are currently no new leads or information, just rumors and unsubstantiated reports from people claiming that they’ve seen him. She said an attempt to locate Burbank’s cell phone was unsuccessful. She said his phone is either off, not functioning or out of service.

The teen’s family said this behavior is not common for him and are concerned for his welfare.

He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing dark jeans and a dark sweatshirt.

If anyone sees Burbank or his vehicle, or if anyone has information on his whereabouts, they are asked to call 911 right away.
