A Woodland teen was injured and the 20-year-old driver was blamed after a crash on Interstate 5 south of Chehalis.

The Washington State Patrol said the crash occurred just before midnight Friday near Milepost 59, 17 miles south of Chehalis.

A Kia Soul driven by Brenden K. Banta, 20, of Kalama, rear-ended a tractor-trailer rig as both vehicles were driving northbound.

The Woodland teen, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital for examination and treatment of unspecified injuries.

Banta, who also was injured, was accused of drunken driving and vehicular assault. The trucker, Ronald Britton of Spanaway, was not injured.
