Letter: Time for a health care solution

George Will’s recent opinion column speaks once again about the problems in Congress (“Republicans can’t seem to get job done” by George Will, The Columbian, July 30).

It is time for both parties to work together to get things done, like affordable health care for all Americans. Let’s use our voices to call or write our members of Congress and ask them to work together to do just that.

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, says she is ready to work across the aisle and most of our state delegation has expressed the same idea. Time for first steps on a bipartisan health care bill — let Washington’s delegation lead the way.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
