Columbia River Sweet Adelines Chorus seeks women 16 and older for four-part harmony. The ability to read music is not required. Junior Symphony of Vancouver seeks young musicians of southwest Washington and Oregon to join the symphony. Open to orchestral and chamber music instruments for those in middle school through college. Auditions are arranged by appointment only, with the application available online. Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks all brass, woodwind and percussion players, active and retired. All abilities welcome, no audition required. The volunteer community band, along with its polka band, Dixieland Jazz Band and chamber ensembles, performs regularly around the area. Angst Gallery seeks submissions for the gallery’s September exhibition “RED,” featuring artwork that incorporates the color red as either a theme in concept or palette. The exhibition will coincide with the International Redhead Days and will celebrate all things red, from sunsets to blood. Artists can submit up to three pieces via drop off from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 26 or Aug. 29. The show will run Sept. 1 through Sept. 23. Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St., Vancouver. www.angstgallery.com

Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge seeks submissions for its annual Refuge Photography Contest. Photographers can submit up to six nature images taken with the boundaries of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. Prizes will be awarded to both adult and youth entries. Friends of Vancouver Community Library seek artists to participate in its Art4Art fundraiser. Each artist will be given an 8 inch by 8 inch wood panel on which to create art. Completed panels are donated back to the library to be sold at the fundraiser on Dec. 1. Deadline for returning the panels is Nov. 15. Second Story Gallery seeks applications from artists interested in display their work during 2018 in a monthly exhibit.
