Four were hurt after a sedan pulling onto state Highway 503 north of Amboy crashed into a pickup Sunday afternoon.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 16-year-old Yacolt driver was heading north on Northeast Gerber McKee Road around 3:30 p.m. she tried to turn onto northbound state Highway 503.

The state patrol said she went over the center line and struck a pickup heading south.

The pickup driver, Thomas P. Smith, 68, of Vancouver, was hurt and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical center, as was the driver of the sedan and her passengers, another 16-year-old Yacolt girl and a 16-year-old Yacolt boy.

Their conditions were not available. The state patrol did not name the juveniles.

The teen driving was cited for second-degree negligent driving.

Everyone had their seat belts on and driver impairment was not a factor, the state patrol said.

The crash totaled both vehicles, troopers said.
