Letter: Support Orange for port

By Rick Schmitt, VANCOUVER
Published: August 9, 2017, 6:00am

In the Tribune News Service story ” ‘An Inconvenient Sequel’ continues call to act” (published Aug. 4 in The Columbian), the writer says that the window of opportunity is closing regarding climate change.

The window will close faster if we build more giant fossil fuel enterprises such as the Tesoro-Savage oil terminal in Vancouver.

The race for port commissioner is not about just about one down-ballot election. This race is about putting the brakes on one of the most powerful and destructive industries in history.

Don Orange opposes the oil terminal. Kris Greene supports the oil terminal. Help Orange get elected.
