Neah Bay – A Coast Guard team rescued two people from a 22-foot boat that ran aground off Kydaka Point, about 10 miles east of Neah Bay in Washington state.

KOMO-TV reported that the Coast Guard received a distress call from the boaters at 7:02 p.m. Sunday, and then communications were lost.

Boat and ground crews along with a helicopter set out from Neah Bay to search for the boaters.

The ground crew found a man and woman huddled together in the grounded boat. They were pulled to safety and taken to Sekiu, where they had started their trip.

The water temperature at the time was 50 degrees and the air temperature was 63 degrees.
