Portland – The entrepreneurial periodical Inc. puts out an annual list of 5,000 companies, ranked by their revenue growth over the prior three years.
It’s not a comprehensive ranking — companies submit their information voluntarily — but it does provide an annual look at where certain companies stand. Oregon has 66 businesses on the 2017 Inc. 5000.
The biggest company from Oregon is Portland-based Fortis Construction, which built Facebook’s multibillion-dollar data center complex in Prineville — along with Facebook projects elsewhere. It’s grown by more than 200 percent over the past three years.
Right behind it is Consumer Cellular, which markets cell phones to seniors through AARP, Target and Sears.
Those two companies’ combined revenue, $1.47 billion, is more than all of Oregon’s other 64 companies combined. But there are other notable names on the list — Smarsh ($82.4 million), Digital Trends ($28.4 million) and Brew Dr. Kombucha ($13.9 million), among others.
