Letter: Herrera-Beutler should speak up

We know that our congressional representative is afraid to meet with constituents who are not on her coffee call list. She will not answer letters with any meaningful reply. She has yet to publicly repudiate the leader of her political party for any of his despicable actions or statements.

On Aug. 15, that GOP leader made absolutely clear that he defends Nazis, the KKK, and other anti-American groups. These cults would eliminate many people from this country, possibly including those named Herrera.

Will our congresswoman finally do or say something, anything, to distance herself from this abomination to our beloved country?

My family fought in World War II, opposed slavery by leaving Texas at the beginning of the treasonous war of succession, and there should be no place here for people who support the beliefs of those who declared war against the USA.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
