Langsdorf scores twice in Stanford’s opening soccer win

Mountain View High grad Foster Langsdorf had a strong start for defending NCAA champion Stanford as he scored two goals in a 4-0 season-opening win at San Jose State on Friday.

Langsdorf, a senior who had 15 goals last season, scored in the 27th and 53rd minute of the match. He took three shots.

As the season get under way, Langsdorf has already been named to the All-Pac-12 Preseason Team, College Soccer News Preseason All-America First Team, and is on the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list for top player in the country.

Stanford hosts Creighton at 7 p.m. Sept. 1. It is scheduled to be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.

This season the Cardinal will visit Washington on Oct. 19, and be at Oregon State on Oct. 22.
