Clark Talks: Podcast gets back to business after brief break

By Jake Thomas, Columbian political reporter
Published: December 7, 2017, 6:02am

Clark Talks is back after taking a break during November.

In this episode of Clark Talks, Columbian reporters Jake Thomas, Katy Sword and Dameon Pesanti get deep in the weeds with tolls or value pricing. Oregon currently has plans to place tolls or value pricing on interstate highways that many Clark County commuters rely on to get to work.

To get a better perspective on the concept behind tolling and how it’s worked out in Washington state, they speak with Mark Hallenbeck, director of the Washington State Transportation Center.

Sword and Thomas also interview Columbian reporter Patty Hastings about her upcoming series on five years of same-sex marriage in Clark County and Washington.

Thomas wraps it up by talking with Columbian Sports Editor Micah Rice about an upcoming winter sports preview special section.

The show is available for free on Soundcloud, iTunes, Stitcher or wherever you get your podcasts. Contact Pesanti and Thomas about the podcast at podcast@columbian.com.
