Letter: Herrera Beutler is for constituents

I have read a lot of negative letters in this paper regarding Rep. Herrera Beutler. I cannot say I agree with all her actions, but she was elected to represent us, and I believe she is doing her best.

I would also like to support her on H.R. 38. I am retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and a law enforcement agency. I can only foresee the passage of this bill in a positive light. This would permit those law-abiding citizens (many who are trained in the military), to carry their concealed weapon while traveling in other states. Therefore, these individuals may be in a situation to save lives in a shooting situation. As we all are aware, there are many violators of the law and individuals with mental problems that have concealed weapons — without a permit.

Herrera Beutler has responded to my email and I would like to give her kudos on her achievements.
